COLOUR & STYLE ASSISTED BY CHELSEY PICKTHORN
Before founding her namesake salon, Chelsey Pickthorn assisted two high profile New York City hair stylists, Laurie Foley (L'Atelier de Laurie, assisted Feb 2009-April 2011) and Orlando Pita (Orlo Salon, assisted June 2011-April 2012).
Just four months after responding to an ad and working as a stylist at L'Atelier de Laurie, Chelsey Pickthorn began working side-by-side with Foley, the first hair dresser to do so. In assisting Foley, Chelsey learned hair-painting and other specialty colour techniques, as well as straight-blade cutting. With Laurie Foley, Chelsey worked her first fashion week, for editorials in Vogue and V Man, and assisted on campaigns such as Gucci, Swarovski, and Redkin.
Familiar with the specialty techniques that she had learned, Orlo Salon took on Chelsey Pickthorn as a colourist and stylist. In 2011, Pickthorn became Orlando Pita's first assistant, working on Tom Ford's first women's fashion show in New York City, Dior shows in Paris, and traveling all over the world for campaigns and editorials with Burberry, Bottega Bonetta, Michael Kors, Oscar De La Renta, as well as The Oprah Winrey Show's "Last Ever Make-Over Extravaganza".
Chelsey Pickthorn left Orlo in spring 2012 to open Pickthorn salon.
